Fall Card for Mom

Hello there!

I am getting ready to attend Crop & Create Cornwall, hosted by the wonderful Scrapbooks & Cards Today … I started attending Crop & Create events back in March 2015.  I was lucky enough to be seated with another group of first-timers and we have all become great friends!  We typically attend the Toronto and Cornwall events and also get together a couple of times a year at each other’s houses to scrapbook.  I’m so looking forward to spending some time with them at Cornwall next weekend!

Anyway, I was inspired by the latest challenge on the Lawn Fawnatics blog … and created a card I’ll be mailing to Mom tomorrow.  We both love all things fall!

I used a Stampin’ Up! embossing folder to create a woodgrain texture on some brown cardstock.  I was inspired to create a leaf wreath after seeing a recent Lawn Fawn YouTube video where alcohol inks were used on vellum to create some Autumn trees.  I die-cut the leaves using the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Leaves die and them coloured them using alcohol inks in yellow, red, and orange.  I used the Lawn Fawn Outside In Scalloped Circles dies to create the centre emblem and a sort of “wreath base” to attach my leaves.  I stamped the acorn from the Lawn Fawn Into the Woods stamp set with Memento ink in Tuxedo Black and cut it out using the matching die.  I coloured in the acorn with Copic markers and added clear Wink of Stella over top.

I cut out the sentiment banner using the banner from the Becky Higgins Project Life die set with some cream cardstock and stamped the “so thankful” sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Jump for Joy stamp set with Lawn Fawn Pumpkin Spice ink.

This is my first time entering a challenge, so here’s hoping I do everything correctly!  🙂
